Year 5 News…

Ohio! In Year 5 we have compared life in an Asian country to life in Wales. The children have planned so many questions they would like to answer and they were even sent a Japanese letter to start their topic. The class had a special visitor and they have learnt to write and say their names in Japanese and have had lots of fun learning some greetings! ‘Arigato,’ ‘Matanay,’ We are also studying the book ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom.’

Our Tree Project

Year 5 are currently working on a tree project to redevelop the school woodland area.  The diseased trees will need to be removed so the class are planning an adventure area for our future.

What’s happening this term?

In Year 5 our driver this half term is Literacy and we are reading the Novel Kensuke’s Kingdom. We will be learning all about Japan and comparing life in an Asian country to life in Saundersfoot. We will be learning how to write and say our names in Japanese!

We are looking forward to our FABB6 activities this term which will include some exciting enterprise!

In Health and Well-being, we are practising our hockey and football skills. We will also be discussing the values and qualities of ourselves and others.

In Science and Technology we are learning all about materials and in particular ‘The Wrong Materials’! We are conducting investigations and making sure that we conduct a fair test!
