FABB6 – Fifty activities before Blwyden 6.
We are proud to be the school that first conceived the idea of completing task with children before they leave primary school. The idea was a result of the impact of COVID and how school are not just places of education- they are a community in themselves and we have a unique opportunity to support children. The team here created this curriculum enrichment idea that has been copied by schools both locally and nationally.

Saundersfoot CP School to present at national conference.
Back in 2022 Saundersfoot CP School was invited to share their new curriculum plans and designs at a national conference that is being chaired by Shadow minister for Education Laura Anne Jones.
Headteacher Mr. Nick Allen said ‘ It is tremendous for the school, especially the staff and Governors that all of our hard work and vision is being recognised and celebrated on this national stage. I have been invited to present as part of the ‘Curriculum design – the process following implementation, continual development within schools, consultation, and building collaborative networks and sharing best practice’. The school will share its work on the implementation of the new curriculum and the Fifty Activities Before Blwydden 6 (#FABB6) and is a reflection to the quality of the school team here in Saundersfoot. It is a great honour to be invited to such a seminar and is a testimony to the curriculum plans the team have developed here in Saundersfoot under my leadership. Saundersfoot CP School is being recognised nationally for its curriculum planning and curriculum design. I am very proud to be the Head teacher of Saundersfoot CP School and it with tremendous pride that I say at a national level we are truly pupil focus in Saundersfoot and have been since I first took on the headship.’
‘The conference is being organised by Policy Forum for Wales with the title keynote seminar The new primary level curriculum – priorities for implementation, curriculum design, delivery, the new Areas of Learning and Experience, and assessment. The conference is a great opportunity to share the work we have completed here in Saundersfoot, yet we are far from the finished article. I don’t think any school could say that when the new curriculum is so new. We plan to share our national recognised curriculum planning and further develop Saundersfoot CP School by listening the leading voices from across Wales in; Approaching the new Areas of Learning and Experience, Delivering the curriculum – support for schools, balancing catch-up studies and teacher workload, teacher recruitment and retention, and opportunities for professional learning and development and assessment under the new system – the responsibilities of schools and teachers, implications for accountability, and best practice in measuring progress.’
Saundersfoot CP School has developed its curriculum in preparation for the Statutory launch of the revised curriculum September 2022. Alongside this curriculum the school has designed a series on enriching experiences and challenges to help its pupils make the most of their lives and their locality #FABB6 shorten for Fifty Activities Before Blwydden 6. These enriching and memorable activities complement the curriculum and will be key milestones or celebrations for our pupils as they move through Saundersfoot CP School.
